It is a place where Art meets Shojin Ryori - a Japanese monastery style cooking. It is an opportunity for people to meet and share. It is a space where we all collaborate to find what we all are looking for. Jizo caf? is led by Japanese Soto Zen priest, Ninsho Kakinuma and his student Muchu Matsune
Jizo Caf・XXI was held at Oco Time, Japanese restaurant in Ukiah, California. Ukiah is a small town located about an hour and a half north of San Francisco.
We were happy to meet all the participants and surprised to find out their enthusiasm.

Menu Konnyaku no miso oden (Yam cake with sweet miso) Horofuki daikon (Daikon radish with sweet miso) Ume waja jiru (pickled plum and Wakame soup) Plum no mizore ae (plum and grated daikon radish) Goma Tofu (Sesame Tofu) Red and chioggia beets pasta Assorted vegetable sushi of shitake mushroom, green, yellow, red and purple pepper, califlower, green and yellow beans.
After the class, we all enjoyed nice lunch in their patio and Ninsho gave a talk about Zen style cooking and eating.
